Where It All Started

Barcelona is more than just a model name.

It’s the city where DOSNOVENTA was born — and the frame that marked the brand’s very first step.

Originally developed under their predecessor, CREAM BIKES, Barcelona was the foundation that shaped DOSNOVENTA’s identity.

Now, that legacy returns in a modern form, without losing its soul.

Barcelona — bearing the name of Dosnoventa’s home.

Barcelona, named after Dosnoventa’s home base, is the very first creation they produced, tracing back to their predecessor shop, CREAM BIKES. It stands as a symbol of the brand itself.

The only model in the lineup featuring a 1-inch steel lugged frame, its traditional silhouette is blended with a modern design. This bike represents a reinterpretation of keirin—one of the roots of track bikes—reconstructed by Dosnoventa for the streets. A true example of learning from the past to create something new.

In other words, it carries the supple strength and ride quality unique to good old steel.

Rather than pursuing speed alone, this bike was born to let riders experience the inherent ride feel of steel—one that becomes more familiar to the body the more you ride it. It is, in many ways, a return to the origin.

In contrast to Dosnoventa’s signature aluminum frames and the TOKYO model, which uses cutting-edge monocoque carbon construction, Barcelona stubbornly adheres to the lugged frame.

While this method once defined an era of road racing, judged purely by performance it may seem outdated. However, the Sagrada Família—still “unfinished” after more than a hundred years—derives its value from the very process of continuous change. Track bikes, too, have transformed so much that the bike you ride today barely resembles the one from your first day, and the culture continues to evolve. That is precisely why Barcelona holds its value.

The frame is built using COLUMBUS’s highest-grade steel tubing, “SPIRIT.”

With an ultra-thin wall thickness of just 0.38 mm at its thinnest point, this tube set achieves both light weight and high rigidity. While taking advantage of stiffness and low weight, SPIRIT is designed to preserve the characteristic ride feel and springiness of steel.

With the unique softness and flex of chromoly steel, this frame differs from aluminum or carbon by being less fatiguing over long rides, offering reassurance and comfort from city riding to longer distances.

Dosnoventa’s design philosophy is especially evident in the geometry. The brand’s signature higher-than-average bottom bracket height ensures comfortable drivability, while the compact rear triangle and well-balanced top tube length deliver excellent rideability in urban environments—despite its racing-oriented specifications. This results in what can be called the ultimate steel track bike.

If you seek only “efficiency,” prioritizing speed and lightness above all else, this bike’s appeal may not come across.

A convenient world can be boring. This Barcelona is for riders who value texture, character, and a presence that can stay with them for years.
