Fixed-gear criterium racing has been gaining momentum year after year. Starting with Red Hook Crit, large-scale competitions are now held worldwide. In the early days of fixed-gear crit, riders customized their own bikes or joined a race with the same setups they used on the streets. However, many frames specifically designed for fixed-gear crit have emerged in recent years.
Red Hook Crit was born in 2008 at Brooklyn, and was also held in three European cities, Milan, Barcelona, and London. Although the Red Hook series has come to an end, races carried on its spirit have spread in the world. In Japan, Sfidare Crit continues to lead the scene. Started in 2014, RAD RACE takes places on go-kart tracks and has garnered worldwide attention in today's criterium racing scene.
Today, I would like to introduce the DOSNOVENTA DETROIT, a frame well-suited for RAD RACE, where tight corners come one after another.
Of course, our assembly process starts with reaming and facing. BB area preparation is crucial for achieving precision in bike assembly. A crank properly installed with the correct torque will perform at its full potential.
Greasing components like bearings is never overlooked. Each of these meticulous tasks contributes to creating a bike that accelerates smoothly without loss. To ensure a smooth ride, we try to remove any elements that could cause even the slightest resistance.
Our custom focuses on acceleration and speed in corners. First, DOSNOVENTA is 29 in Spanish. This refers to the BB height being 290mm, and in fixed-gear crit, where riders continuously pedal, this characteristic offers a significant advantage.
The basic components are from DEDA ELEMENTI, a European brand like DOSNOVENTA, and their parts are widely used and loved in many racing scenes. The DEDA ZERO 100 stem is made of lightweight aluminum, designed for professional use, and the sliver color is a limited edition. For the saddle, we use Selle SAN MARCO Concor Carbon FX. Its carbon rails prevent twisting, narrow the front of the saddle, and enable smooth pedaling. I added the Chris King seat clamp as a stylish touch. I believe that these small details are one of the elements that make riding a bike more enjoyable.
This is a collaboration wheel between the American wheel manufacturer HED and BROTURES. This wheel, which designed specifically for fixed-gear bikes and does not allow for using brakes, is perfect for racer who are solely focused on chasing speed. And of course, it's made in USA.
The drivetrain, which can be considered the heat of the bike, is equipped with:
These parts, lightweight and durable, take riders who feel that current components aren't enough to the next level. ROTOR VEGAST is a crankset designed specifically for track bikes, made from the 6082 aluminum known as good durability. Although this digirit chainring is made from carbon, it is by no means fragile. The quality is such that some national teams have adopted it in international track races. Our original cog, the By BROTURES Track Cog, is produced with high precision at an affordable price. The cog, machined using CNC technology, features bold cutouts that balance both strength and lightweight construction.
Recently, Gerard Saltor, a rider from DOSNOVENTA, brilliantly secured second place at the RAD RACE. The reason why I am writing this blog is celebration of his achievement. Those who were present at the race may understand just how advantageous the Detroit frame is in competitive racing. Through this blog, I hope this frame reaches as many riders as possible who are eager for victory.
