It got me so hyped I couldn’t help but write this post right away.
And the star of the show? None other than the legendary GOKISO track hubs.

Actually, “see” might not be the right word—witnessing one feels more accurate.
If you’ve read our past blogs, you might remember the name. But make no mistake—this hub is on another level.
From Jet Engines to Track Bikes
GOKISO is the brainchild of Kondo Machine Corporation, a Japanese manufacturer specializing in ultra-precision machining for aerospace components—especially jet engines.
The name “GOKISO” comes from Gokiso-cho, the company’s birthplace. Who knew such a beast of a cycling brand came from there?
With decades of aerospace experience, Kondo earned Rolls-Royce supplier certification in 2011—yes, that Rolls-Royce. While most think of their luxury cars, their real fame (and fortune) comes from building world-class aircraft engines.
Next time you’re at an airport, look around—you’ll spot plenty of planes with that RR logo on their engines.
GOKISO takes that same advanced technology and strict quality control from aerospace manufacturing and applies it to bicycle components.
If Rolls-Royce once built its own cars, then GOKISO is exactly that in the world of track hubs—the Rolls-Royce of fixed gear.
Made in Japan, Without Compromise
GOKISO was created with one mission: to become the world’s best wheel maker. The president of Kondo—an avid cyclist himself—personally draws on his riding experience to create these parts.
From design to manufacturing, assembly, and inspection—every single process is done entirely in Japan.
Each hub is engraved with a unique serial number and comes with its own warranty certificate. The warranty? 10 years.
Paid servicing? Up to 30 years. You might wear out before the hub does.
Performance That Feels Unreal
GOKISO’s biggest selling point? Its unbelievable rotation. Spin it in your hand and you’ll feel something you’ve never felt in a hub before. One of our staff even said, “It’s like a DURA-ACE hub with all the grease taken out.”
Instead of the standard two-bearing setup, GOKISO uses double bearings—two on each side, four total. That alone boosts performance, but here’s the real kicker:
The hub shell and the inner mechanism are floating separately.
This isolates the bearings from torque and road shock, eliminating anything that could slow them down. The result?
Not just “high-speed” rotation—it feels frictionless. Once it starts spinning, it’s like it’ll never stop.
The Ultimate Build: ENVE × GOKISO
For this project, we paired the GOKISO hubs with ENVE SES 7.8 rims—arguably the ultimate combination in our minds. Since ENVE no longer makes brake-track rims, this set just became even more valuable.
From the moment our in-house wheel guru, Kazamura, started lacing them, you could see how freely these wheels spun.
The result? A true masterpiece.
In the cycling world, “lighter is better” and “light means fast” has long been the rule—but once you experience this hub, you start questioning that belief.
Installed on LOOK 875 MADISON RS
To complete the setup, the customer chose a carbon LOOK 875 MADISON RS frame. With ENVE wheels and GOKISO hubs, there’s hardly a better pairing in the fixed-gear world.
We finished it off with Pirelli P ZERO Team Edition tires for that perfect color match. These are limited too—no detail left unchecked.
I had the privilege of taking it for a quick ride, and as expected—it was magic. The sensation is almost weightless. You just want to keep going forever.
If Rolls-Royce cars are famous for “not spilling the wine in the glass,” GOKISO hubs achieve that same level of smoothness—neutralizing every bit of shock for an effortless ride.
