What Are NJS Frames?
At Brotures Kichijoji, we carry a variety of used frames, including popular brands like Leader Bike and Cinelli, as well as NJS frames. Today, I want to talk a bit about the fascinating world of NJS.
NJS stands for "Nihon Jitensha Shinkokai" (Japan Bicycle Promotion Association). This mark is often seen on Nitto parts and Japanese-made chromoly frames. Generally, NJS pertains to keirin racing, where only a small number of parts, made to strict NJS standards, are allowed. This ensures fairness, eliminates fraud, and minimizes the differences caused by varying parts.
The Craftsmanship of NJS Frames
NJS frames are known for their precision and strength, and they are all crafted by Japanese artisans. Their high-quality chromoly frames are said to last a lifetime if well-maintained. Each NJS frame is custom-made, offering unique ride characteristics. Checking out the geometry of each frame can be pretty interesting. 3Rensho is globally renowned for its immaculate finish. Depending on the condition, used 3Rensho frames can exceed ¥200,000. We have one in size M – don't miss the chance to experience its superior ride quality!

Located in Arakawa, Tokyo, Level has been crafting bicycles for over 70 years. In 2013, they won the Best Track Bike and President's Choice awards at the North American Handmade Bicycle Show (NAHBS), showcasing their exceptional quality. Our available frame is also size M, so act fast if interested!
Presto Frame Set - ¥59,400 (EX. TAX)
Presto, based in Tottori, continues to produce excellent frames. Nearly half the finalists in the 2016 keirin championship rode Presto frames, highlighting their popularity and performance. The frame's color and glitter decals are stunning – it looks even better in person!
